About Tiffani Jaqua

Tiffani Jaqua (pronounced Jakeway) is a Texas-based author, counselor, and late-blooming storyteller whose rhyming poetry has captured the hearts of readers young and old. A proud graduate of Texas A&M University (Class of '90), Tiffani earned her Master's degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University, embarking on a nearly 30-year career in education and counseling. Her professional journey has been dedicated to supporting students and families across Texas and New Mexico, a role that has deeply influenced her writing.
Widowed and raising two sons in the Lone Star State, Tiffani’s life is a blend of resilience and creativity. Her writing career began as a personal passion, sparked by a desire to preserve the whimsical joys of childhood and the rich traditions of college life. Her first three books—Blowing Dandelions with Sea Lions, It’s My Turn in the Front Seat, and The Students in Room 109—each feature 54 poems and illustrations, exploring themes of school activities, sports, animals, and pets. These early works laid the foundation for her signature style: playful, rhythmic verse paired with engaging visuals, often designed as coloring books to inspire young imaginations.
Tiffani’s bibliography has since expanded to include a beloved series of "Questions" books—Questions for Santa, Questions for the Easter Bunny, Questions for the Tooth Fairy, Questions for the Leprechaun, Questions for a Princess, and Questions for a Pirate—each offering children a delightful mix of poetry and interactive activities. Her standalone titles, such as Phases of the Moon, Distinctively Diverse Dinosaurs, Halloween Things, Traveling Around the World, Phenomenally Pragmatic Penguins, and The Problem with My Cat’s Meow, showcase her versatility, blending humor, wonder, and educational themes.
In recent years, Tiffani has turned her pen to celebrating the collegiate spirit of the South. Her growing collegiate series includes four standout titles: Texas A&M University: It’s Not Just a College, It’s a Culture, Louisiana State University: It’s Not Just a College, It’s a Community, The University of Texas: It’s Not Just a College, It’s a Civilization, and Sam Houston State University: It’s Not Just a College, It’s a Legacy. These books weave together the traditions, rivalries, and pride of each institution in her signature rhyming style, resonating with alumni, students, and fans alike. With plans underway for Baylor University and The University of Houston, Tiffani continues to expand this series, fueled by her deep connection to Texas’s academic heritage.
Tiffani’s latest releases, Splendidly Sensational Sea Turtles (August 2024) and Sam Houston State University: It’s Not Just a College, It’s a Legacy (November 2024), reflect her ongoing commitment to crafting stories that delight and educate. Beyond her books, she finds inspiration in her family, her pets, and the vibrant landscapes of Texas. A self-described late bloomer, Tiffani’s writing journey is a testament to the power of pursuing dreams at any stage of life. She hopes to inspire others to embrace their passions, proving that creativity knows no timeline.
When she’s not writing or counseling, Tiffani enjoys speaking at local schools and libraries, sharing her love of poetry and storytelling. Her work is available on Amazon and Etsy, where her books continue to bring joy to readers worldwide. Whether penning tales of sea turtles or immortalizing college traditions, Tiffani Jaqua remains a storyteller at heart, dedicated to crafting words that rhyme, inspire, and endure.
